Crohn’s disease – MICI

Here are some cute, accessible animations illustrating the abdominal pain and discomfort that can occur in people living with Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the digestive tract.
These pedagogical videos are meant mostly for children and teenagers living with Crohn’s disease, to help them better understand what they are going through, put their symptoms into words, and find ways to live a better life despite the challenges their condition can bring.

They cover topics such as understanding how the body responds to inflammation, recognizing and managing symptoms, knowing what they can do to feel better, who they can talk to, and what kind of help or support they can ask for.

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are part of a group of conditions known as IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), or MICI (Maladies Inflammatoires Chroniques de l’Intestin) in French. These chronic conditions cause inflammation in the digestive tract and can lead to symptoms such as abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, fatigue, and digestive discomfort. Living with IBD can sometimes be difficult to understand, especially for younger people, which is why clear and age-appropriate explanations can make a real difference.
